Brimscombe qualify after Barnes makes his point at Stonehouse

MOST READ

A stoppage-time Ollie Barnes’ header rescued a point for Brimscombe at Stonehouse Town, booking their place in the next round of the Hellenic League Challenge Cup.

Earlier, Chris Burns’ side opened the scoring when Joe Williams pounced after the break. Stonehouse were the better side throughout, but Brimscombe grabbed last-gasp parity as Barnes popped up at the death.

Lilywhites boss Sam Prior felt his side were second best to Stonehouse, he said: “Poor performance from us tonight. Extremely fortunate to nick a late point after being second best for most of the evening. No excuses, just not at the races.”
