British Rowing is recruiting young people across Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas with no rowing experience who may have the potential to row for Great Britain.

The Performance Development Academy based at Gloucester Boathouse has produced over 23 GB rowers since 2014 and earned 6 USA university scholarships in the past 4 years.

British Rowing are looking for 14-18 year old boys who are 184cm (6ft) and girls who are 175cm (5ft 8) or taller to attend a taster & trial day at Gloucester Boathouse on October 8th, no prior experience necessary.

Pathway coach Tom Jenkinson from Gloucestershire Performance Development Academy, in partnership with British Rowing and Hartpury, said: “We are looking for young athletes who have what it takes to potentially make it into the Great Britain Rowing Team, racing at World Championships and eventually the Olympic Games.”
