A Stroud motorist had a lucky escape when his vehicle was targeted.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous told Stroud Times his vehicle was shot as he was driving along Old Bisley Road.

He said: “Someone on Bisley Old Road was shooting at passing cars, as my van got hit.

“A friend of mine, who lived in this vicinity then contacted me as his car had been damaged by ball bearings.

“People may not have been aware they were shot at and may have put it downtown to a stone chip or something.”

A police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a report that a BB gun was believed to have been fired from a window at a property on Old Bisley Road, Stroud, on Tuesday (6 June) at around 5.10pm.

“Nobody has reported any injuries. Enquiries are continuing and any witnesses or anybody with information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website, quoting incident 358 of 6 June: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/a-crime-that-has-already-been-reported/ .”
