Winners of the Stroud Times and Chalfest competition, Janet and David Acton clearly had a fabulous time at the festival last weekend.
Said David: “Dan (from Chalfest) generously sent over four adult tickets for both Friday and Saturday (plus a parking pass). We went along with our friends Phil and Jen on Friday and the weather was perfect, a lovely sunny afternoon and a beautiful evening.

“We visited Woodchester Wines for some fizz, had a wander around the many craft stalls (met some old friends running one), sampled the food stalls (huge amount of choice) and had a boogie and sing along to Johnny Clash (who certainly put on a superb performance).
“The highlight of the evening was Gok Wan, such a lovely man, really happy and uplifting and clearly enjoying himself.
“Janet and I returned on Saturday and had some fun trying all the different charity tombola (Hope Cancer Care human roulette machine was the best). Showers forced us undercover, and we spent a very relaxing and educational hour in a book binding session with Kate Lennon in the Victoria Works Studio marquee.

“Amazing tribute act, Love Distraction, got us warmed up. The Wurzels were as good as ever, they never seem to age, so popular and despite the dreary weather, got everyone dancing and singing.
“The highlight for us both was The Beat, teenage memories of 2Tone came flooding back and we thoroughly loved seeing such an amazing and iconic group perform live.”
