Charlie Barnes, a Year 12 pupil at Archway School has just returned from representing Great Britain at the U18 European Fast Pitch Soft Ball Championship held in the Czech Republic.

Great Britain played against Denmark in the bronze medal match, where they narrowly lost 4-1.
Charlie started his Softball career at Archway school where he plays the slow pitch version of the game. He follows in the footsteps of other Archway pupils who have also represented team GB.
Charlie graduated through the Archway softball academy where he now plays regularly in the Bristol Softball League, he said: “It was a privilege to be asked to trial and get selected for the GB Fast Pitch Team, where I attended many training weekends over the years at Farnham Park near Beaconsfield, the home of the British Baseball and softball.
“To get an opportunity to play for your country was amazing and much thanks must go to all the teachers and coaches at Archway School and the coaches and Management in team Great Britain Softball.
Charlie’s ambition is to represent his country at senior level.
