Stroud Chess Club is delighted to announce a special chess event featuring Grandmaster Peter Wells, one of England’s most respected players and authors.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 14th May at 7pm at Star Anise Café, a beloved local venue in the heart of Stroud.
GM Wells will take on 30 challengers simultaneously in a relaxed and sociable setting, showcasing his renowned skill and offering local players a rare opportunity to test their mettle against a grandmaster.
The exhibition marks an exciting moment for the growing chess scene in Stroud and is part of the club’s wider aim to host more high-level events in the town. Stroud Chess Club hopes to make similar events a regular fixture in the local calendar, helping to nurture enthusiasm for the game across all ages and abilities.
The event is supported by Stroud Chess Club and will feature a mix of club members and local players from the wider community.
