I’ve recently been working with my coaching community on the concept of ‘Limiting Beliefs’, something I learned from Tony Robbins on his UPW training. Looking at where we are stuck, and why that is.
‘Limiting Beliefs’ refer to the stories we tell ourselves around what we are able to achieve in life, what we are capable of and who we are as people.
Whilst preparing for this session I looked back at my notes I made 5 years ago and 3 years ago and I was SHOCKED at the way I used to look at myself and speak to myself.
My internal dialogue was completely holding me back – I was creating a reality where I was unable to progress because I didn’t think I was capable/that type of person/in the right place in my life. Any number of reasons all of which I had completely fabricated based on assumptions I’d picked up throughout my life.
And the wild thing is. Everything I thought I couldn’t do 5 years ago, I’ve done. Everything.
I am pretty sure that working on these stories and seeing the absolute nonsense of them, letting them go and creating new empowering beliefs has completely changed my life experience. I have evidence around me every day.
It’s true that we can be so busy living life that we don’t notice at all the progress we are making.
So whatever it is you are working on now, however sticky those old habits feel and however small you feel your daily progress is, know that you’ve got this and that all of those tiny tweaks will create a huge leap in your own life.
In case no one told you today, I believe in you.
