The operator for Stratford Park Lido has issued a statement to clarify the opening times at the popular leisure facility in Stroud.

Stroud Times contacted Stroud District Council after a number of readers claimed the pool was shut from 9am until 3.45pm on Thursday.

A spokesperson for SDC said: “We appreciate the feedback from residents regarding the use of Stratford Park’s Lido during the recent warm weather.

“We’d like to reassure the public that the pool was open in line with its published timetable. While we understand that demand increases significantly during hot spells, the pool’s opening hours are set in advance to ensure a consistent and safe experience for all users.

“We’re pleased to confirm that from Sunday, June 30, the pool’s opening hours will be extended, with a fuller timetable running throughout the summer holidays. This will give more people the opportunity to enjoy the facility during the warmer months.

“We encourage residents to check the updated timetable on our website or social media channels before visiting.

“We’re grateful for the community’s continued support and feedback, which helps us shape the services we provide.”

The pool is open seven days a week, from Noon until 7pm. Daily daytime lane sessions will run from 12pm – 1pm and 6pm – 7pm, with public sessions for all ages and abilities to enjoy the pool, available from 1.15pm – 3.15pm and 3.45pm – 5.45pm.
