Joseph Beuys Centenary – 10am, Saturday 7th August – FREE

An inaugural performance of Joseph and The 7000 trees – a 40-minute-long fairy story highlighting environmental and social issues in an entertaining show suitable for all ages. This takes place in an innovative form of Puppet Theatre using animated 2D cartoon-style characters and scenery.

Exhibition – 10am – 5.30pm; Puppet Theatre – 12pm then again at 2pm.

Presentation ‘Joseph Beuys. His relevance today as a provocateur and ecological activist.’ – 4pm. Pay up to £5 for puppet show.

Expect prosecco on arrival, goody bags and a stunning catwalk from Stroud’s favourite local shops. Stage dressed by Haberdashery Twist.

BBC Radio 4’s iconic discussion programme comes to Stroud. Described as ‘a topical discussion programme in which a panel of personalities from the world’s politics, media and elsewhere are posed by the audience’ the show has been just that for 70 years since its first broadcast from the Guildhall in Winchester on 12th October, 1948. Hosted by David Jacobs from 1967 to 1984 and most memorably by Jonathon Dimbleby from 1989 to 2019 the show is one of Radio 4’s flagship programmes and remains hugely popular.

Dubbu and Mendoza are established promoters, DJs and vinyl enthusiasts. They masterminded Stroud Block Party which has gone down in local history as one of the best parties in town.

They’re responsible for Notorious, Uptown and most recently Overproof. And now? They’re bringing their good vibes to our brand-new art-deco bar with Neighbourhood. Prepare to dance until the early hours with a top-of-the-range sound system, and these wicked DJs taking to the decks. More good news? Our launch party is completely free.
