The indoor market within Five Valleys shopping centre in Stroud celebrates its third birthday this weekend.

Modelled on London’s Borough Market, a wide range of talented artisan traders have provided Stroud shoppers with the best quality local produce and delicious street food since it’s opening in July 2020.

As part of the birthday celebrations, live music will be kicking off the weekend on Friday night with local singer Leon Thor performing.

The traders will also be handing out delicious samples to customers throughout the weekend giving people a taste of what’s on offer at the popular shopping destination.

Thai2Go, The Warren and The Artisan Baker have traded within the market since its launch and have since invested in refits, expanded and created jobs leading to a boost in the local economy.

As well as the bakery shoppers can shop quality, fresh produce from Knights Artisan Butchers, The Cotswold Grocer and Armadeli, a fabulous delicatessen offering a range of cheese, charcuterie and other specialist foods.

As well as being able to shop for fresh produce, shoppers are able to grab a bite to eat from a selection of street food units catering for all tastes from Tex-Mex, Portuguese, Indian, Thai, Italian, Sushi and BBQ food to name a few.

For those with a sweet tooth, customers can enjoy a doughnut from Breaking the Habit, bubble tea from The Sweet Peach or crepe from Oh Crepe.

Centre Manager at Five Valleys, Jack Simpson, said: “Each business at our unique market works incredibly hard on their offer bringing something completely different to Stroud.

“We’re looking forward to putting on some entertainment this late night Friday and inviting our foodie lovers to join us in the celebrations.

“There is something here for everyone from bubble teas, noodles and fine cheese. Families can order from different vendors but sit together within our markets dining area or enjoy the sunshine and games in our new outdoor Courtyard area.”
