Contract extension is a no-brainer for Cargill

The only way is up for Forest Green defender Baily Cargill after he agreed to a contract extension until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The 25-year-old, who was already contracted for the coming season, made 25 appearances for Rovers last season, scoring twice after joining Rovers from MK Dons last January, as a direct replacement for Liam Kitching.

On signing the deal, Cargill told the FGR website: “This was an easy decision for me. We’ve got a great group of lads here and I’ve really enjoyed my first five months with the club.”

“FGR are only going in one direction, and I’m excited to be part of the journey.”

Richard Hughes, Director of Football, added: “We’re so pleased to get this one done. Baily came in during January and has been excellent for us. I’m sure there’s plenty more to come from him over the next two seasons.”
