As Nailsworth returns to normal this week following a lengthy road closure, it has been revealed how a business embedded in the community, played a pivotal role in getting the town back on its feet.
The Cullimore Group, led by Managing Director Moreton Cullimore, stepped in at the eleventh hour after the incorrect concrete was laid to repair the road in George Street – slamming the brakes on a planned reopening.

Sales Manager of The Cullimore Group, Martyn Pearce told Stroud Times: “We were proud to be able to help the Nailsworth community by playing a small, but important role in bringing an end to weeks of disruption for residents and businesses.
“Like many in the area, several of our employees have faced daily challenges getting to work due to traffic and road closures. Our transport operations were also affected, so we truly understand the impact this has had. That’s why we were glad to step in when the contractors asked up to help cover the newly installed gas main. We’re please to have contributed to getting this back on track for the community.”
Based in Whitminster, The Cullimore Group of Companies was established in 1927 and is a leading supplier of transport and general haulage services to Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire and Avon & Somerset.
