A green energy company has launched what it claims to be the UK’s first fully plant-based workplace canteen.
Ecotricity’s sustainable menu includes lasagne, koftas and devil’s kitchen burgers.
Dale Vince, founder of Ecotricity said: “I’m not really into awareness days or months – at Ecotricity we’re plant-based all year around but the idea behind Veganuary, to spark a conversation about where we get our food and what it’s doing to our bodies and the planet, is absolutely right.
“We think our new plant-based cafeteria is a first and proves that there’s another way to do things. Plant-based eating can be affordable, healthy, tasty, and good for the planet. The future is plant-based, and the sooner we get there the better for us all.”
Plans are in place to expand Ecotricity’s plant-based menu by adding plant-based breakfast options in 2025. All meals are subsidised at £4 to ensure they are accessible. This latest initiative is part of Ecotricity’s broader mission to tackle the climate crisis by changing the way we think about energy, transport, and food.
