Ecotricity chief and Forest Green owner Dale Vince championed the performance by Irish rap trio Kneecap, who staged a defiant pro-Palestine performance at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday.
Kneecap performed in front of tens of thousands of fans chanting “Free Palestine”, defying Prime Minister Keir Starmer who said he did not think it was “appropriate” for the band to appear.
The group has made headlines in recent months with their pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel stance, and one of their members has been charged with a “terror” offence for allegedly supporting Hezbollah.

Vince, who watched Kneecap at Glastonbury posted on social media platform X: “At Glasto, kneecap not cancelled, FFS…if it’s possible to be sold out at Glasto – I mean come on, the crowd is 30k+, field shut, big shout out to the Eavis family for resisting the cancel pressure. Free Palestine.”
Showing his support for Palestine in Stroud, Vince has pinned the flag to the front of Ecotricity HQ, he added: “We’re flying this flag in support of the Palestinian people.”
In statement Saturday, a spokesperson for the BBC said the performance would not be shown, live but would likely be available on-demand afterwards.
