A group of women who usually dance for fun came together to raise more than £2,000 for Stroud Women’s Refuge.
Dazzle Ladies Dance created and produced the Dazzle Showgirls event at Minchinhampton Market House, a night of cabaret acts, cocktails and live music which raised £2075 for the refuge.

Three acts, including Burlesque, 50s Jive and Fosse Jazz performed for two nights. The show was the dream child of Sarah Davis-Berry, owner of Minchinhampton-based Dazzle Workshops, and local performer Kate Tyler.
Together they had the ambition of bringing together a group of female performers, predominantly amateur, and to give something back to the community. The vision was to create a non-typical dance troupe ensemble with every individual having their moment to shine. Real women of all ages and sizes, representing women everywhere.

The performers all have a special connection to Dazzle which has operated in Gloucestershire for the last 20 years.
“From the moment we came together we all had the vision to put on the best show we could, always going above and beyond in all aspects of the show build to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic female-focused charity.

“The aim was to connect with the audience, to spread joy, to encourage positive self body image and female empowerment that we have felt throughout every rehearsal and I think we succeeded. The sell-out evenings raised far more the we could have hoped,” Sarah said.
Stroud Women’s Refuge were delighted with the total: “This is an incredible amount. We hope everyone enjoyed this amazing event. A huge thank you to all involved, we are so grateful. The money raised will contribute to all aspects of the support we provide to women and children who live within the refuge and those we support to stay safe within their own home in the Stroud District.”

Dazzle Ladies Dance runs regular ladies dance classes and events in Gloucestershire and the Dazzle Showgirls are available for themed performance and entertainment at birthday celebrations, hen dos and corporate events.
