Minchinhampton-based choir The Stuart Singers donated £500 to Stroud District Foodbank last week.
The money was raised at two Christmas Concerts at Holy Trinity Church on December 3rd and 4th in Minchinhampton, which were attended by 250 people.
The choir, led by Helen Sims and accompanied by Matt Sharp, sang their way through some of the most requested numbers with a sprinkling of festive cheer. The concerts also featured guest soloist Sebastian Taylor on violin.
Foodbank Manager Nikki Clarke explained how important such donations are: “November was our second busiest month on record, after April 2020.
“Some people are really struggling, so donations like this means we can focus on people who really need our help.”
The Stuart Singers celebrate their 30th anniversary next year and have donated more than £250,000 to local charities since their formation.
