Shortwood United have been dealt a hammer blow with the departure of kingpin midfielder Lee Bowles and top scorer Luke Soule ruled out for the rest of the season.
Bowles, 23, rejoins promotion-chasing Brimscombe for a second spell following three seasons at the Nailsworth club.
On his exit from Meadowbank, Bowles said: “I would like to think that I helped them get to where they are now and in a better position now than three years ago, but I want to wish everyone at Shortwood the best.”
Bowles is excited to join Brimscombe who are currently fourth in the Hellenic Premier Division, he added: “I want to try and help them get into the play-offs and get promoted.”
Bowles is expected to make his debut for the Lilywhites when Sam Prior’s side travel to Bishop’s Cleeve on Monday.
Meanwhile, Shortwood hot-shot Soule has been ruled out for the remainder of the Hellenic League Division One West season after tearing his hamstring. Soule hit 19 goals in 22 games.
