Today, Sunday, saw the annual running of Stroud and District Motor Club’s Cotswold Clouds motor trial, attracting more than 80 competitors.
The first stage, the notoriously difficult Crooked Mustard near Dursley, was halted at around 9.30am following two separate incidents involving competitors after marshals cancelled it due to safety concerns.
An eyewitness, who asked not to be named, told Stroud Times: “Two cars, a BMW Z3 and a ‘special’, with two people in each, almost cleared the section but didn’t make it and had to reverse down, but they both caught a wheel on a bank and the vehicles turned over.”
It’s believed the occupants of the ‘special’ required medical attention whilst the BMW managed to continue in the competition.
Provisional results announced Duncan Stephens as overall winner.
