A popular Stroud pub is inviting customers to come together this evening to celebrate the life and music of country music legend Dolly Parton.
The Prince Albert in Rodborough is hosting a special Dolly-themed evening following the death of the much-loved singer and songwriter, who died aged 80 on Tuesday.
Landlady Lotte Lyster Connolly is encouraging Dolly fans to come along, sing their hearts out and celebrate the incredible legacy of the country music icon.
She said: “If you see someone without a smile today, give ‘em yours.”
The pub is inviting guests to dance, belt out their favourite Dolly songs and, for those feeling particularly glamorous, come dressed in their best Dolly-inspired outfits.
The evening will be a chance for the local community to come together and remember a woman whose music, humour, kindness and larger-than-life personality touched generations of fans around the world.
From ‘Jolene’ and ‘9 to 5’ to ‘I Will Always Love You’, Dolly Parton leaves behind an extraordinary musical legacy, alongside her celebrated philanthropic work.
Lotte said the evening was about honouring Dolly in the best possible way — with music, laughter, dancing and plenty of sparkle.
“Come along and celebrate and honour the life of the country legend and icon Dolly Parton,” she said.
“Dance, belt out your favourite song and come dressed in your most gorgeous Dolly-inspired look. RIP Dolly xx.”
The Prince Albert’s tribute takes place this evening in Rodborough, with Dolly fans of all ages invited to come along and raise a glass to one of country music’s most beloved stars.
