Duncan Ferguson linked to Forest Green despite being tipped to replace Frank Lampard at Everton

Everton legend Duncan Ferguson is reportedly in ‘advanced talks’ with Forest Green despite strong links to the vacant Everton position.

The former Scotland, Everton, Newcastle and Rangers striker looks set to be appointed following the departure of Ian Burchnall.

Ferguson’s odds for the Rovers’ job were cut from 20/1 to 1/4 on Wednesday.

Forest Green chairman Dale Vince is keen to get a new man in place and Ferguson,51, could be in charge for Rovers’ trip to Steve Cotterill’s Shrewsbury Town this weekend.
