Dursley Town manager Ben Deakin has praised his side’s performance and spirit following their Reg Davis Cup Final victory over Whaddon.
Deakin was full of pride after the final whistle, commending the team’s determination and togetherness throughout the final at Longlevens.

“I’m absolutely delighted for the lads,” said Deakin. “They’ve worked so hard all season, and to finish it off with silverware is a brilliant reward for everyone involved. The effort, attitude, and belief they showed in the final was outstanding — they fully deserved the win.”

Jack Hughes’ header on the cusp of the break proved the difference for Dursley. Whaddon missed a penalty from the spot through Kurtis Burrows with 10 minutes to go, but the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League leaders held on to take the silverware.
Deakin also highlighted the importance of unity both on and off the pitch, acknowledging the club’s supporters and volunteers.
“The backing we’ve had from the fans and everyone behind the scenes has been incredible,” he added. “It’s a real team effort across the whole club, and this victory is for all of them.”
