Eco washing company cleans up at national awards night

A Stonehouse-based business, specialising in eco-sustainable washing and cleaning products company cleaned up at the Microbiz national award for over 50s.

Wendy Thomson, who is the founder of WendyGoesGreen, scooped her award via a Zoom ceremony.

The awards were designed to celebrate, recognize and build the profiles of micro-businesses across the UK which make up 95% of all private businesses.

Wendy, who previously had a career in the RAF, uses natural ingredients to clean homes, holiday lets, and office spaces.

She’d stopped using most household products when she realised how many of them were full of complex and harmful chemicals and started developing her own home brand and is now concentrating on developing them for the wider market.

She said: “Using my range of products creates a safer, healthier home environment for you, your family and pets and belongings while being kinder to the planet and it was great to be recognized that it’s never too late to turn a discovery or passion into a business no matter how old you are.”
