The traditional Painswick Playgroup Easter Egg Hunt returns on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025 from 12-4pm, at the Memorial Ground of St Mary’s Church, Painswick.

Now in its 17th year, it is a great family day out and raises vital funds for the Painswick Playgroup (Registered Charity Number 900465).  Join us for face painting, teddy bear tombola, bottle tombola, raffle, cake stall, lots of hot food options, drinks and other stalls.

As per tradition, decorated eggs will be dotted around Painswick for everyone to find. Printed trail maps (£5) can be purchased on the day or from local businesses. Digital maps can also be purchased online. The Egg Hunt itself can be completed at any point between Easter Saturday and Tuesday 22nd April – complete the trail and stand the chance to win a John Lewis Voucher!

Calling all bakers – bring your cakes to enter the Painswick Bake-off by 11am on Easter Saturday. Special guest judge Dr Dawn Harper will head up the judging for the Under 16, Best Decorated and Best Tasting categories. All cakes will be sold to raise funds – other cake donations are very welcome too.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for a great family day out, participating in a long-standing village tradition whilst taking in the historic beauty of Painswick – all while helping to raise vital funds for our village Playgroup. We look forward to seeing young and old join in.” – Amelia Conroy, Chair of the Painswick Playgroup Committee

The event is organised by parents of the Playgroup.
