A 90-year-old woman has sadly died following a collision on the A419 Ebley Bypass in Stroud on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 4:40pm after reports of a collision involving two vehicles—a blue Honda Jazz and a black Audi A6. The driver of the Honda, a local woman from Stroud, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Southmead Hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, she passed away on Sunday evening.

Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers at this deeply difficult time.

The driver of the Audi, a woman in her 60s from Monmouthshire, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.

The road was closed for several hours while a full collision investigation was carried out and has now reopened.

Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant dashcam footage, to come forward. Even the smallest detail could prove vital in understanding the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the online reporting form, quoting incident number 53260030794.

Police have thanked the public for their patience during the road closure and extended their condolences to the family and loved ones of the woman who died.
