Made In Stroud founder Clare Honeyfield has shared a moving tribute to her son, Ry Gerbrands, as he prepares to step away from his role at the much-loved town centre shop after nearly eight years as the familiar face behind the counter.
Reflecting on another successful year for the business, Clare took to social media to thank the community that has supported Made In Stroud, while paying special tribute to the person who has worked alongside her.
“2025 was another epic year with too many good things to list,” she wrote.
“Huge thanks to our makers, artisans and producers for keeping the shelves stocked, thank you to each and every customer and visitor for your warmth and friendship and for taking the time to shop local. Together with our town centre shop neighbours for being the absolute best.

“And especially thank you to Ry for an inspiring seven and a half years of working side by side. Whatever you do next in your work life will be amazing Ry, because of your attitude, innovation, attention to detail and work ethic.”
She added that she was looking forward to a works Christmas dinner at The Woolpack in January, and wished everyone “a peaceful and abundant Yuletide and a very happy New Year”.
Made In Stroud will reopen on Saturday 3 January, with Clare saying she is looking forward to welcoming customers back into the shop in the new year.
