Dear Editor,
I am reaching out to encourage your readers to step out at this year’s Sue Ryder Starlight Hike Cheltenham and help the charity continue to be there when it matters – just like they were for my family and I.
Sue Ryder remains a cause close to my heart. The charity’s expert nursing care and medical support for my daughter Claire meant everything, and the compassion they showed us all was unforgettable.
That’s why, I jumped at the chance to get behind their annual flagship Starlight Hike event, a magical 5k or 10k walk under the stars to celebrate the memory of loved ones while helping to raise vital funds.
Each event is filled with joy, fun, and music, including pre-warm-up entertainment, and refreshments, with many people choosing to shine bright in the night with neon face paints and colourful clothing.
Set in stunning locations, Sue Ryder supporters and the community cheer people on to the end for a magical event you will never forget.
Crossing the finishing line, walkers are rewarded with a special medal and the incredible feeling of achievement knowing they’ve done something amazing.
So, what’s stopping you Gloucestershire?
Gather your family and friends (and even your dogs), light up skies for someone special, and help Sue Ryder to ensure that everyone approaching the end of their lives or living with grief can access the support they need.
Sue Ryder Starlight Hike Cheltenham takes place on 19 October at Ashley Manor Preparatory School. Sign up at www.sueryder.org/starlightcheltenham
