Joshua Walker, a contemporary Chilean artist exhibits at the Three Storeys gallery in Nailsworth from Tuesday, April 11th to Sunday, April 16th.
The exhibition is Joshua Walker’s Writing in Paint. Walker was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in Santiago, Chile.
The exhibition contains many original abstract paintings with no titles.
“He deliberately leaves his works untitled so that the observer begins to read the painting in the context of their own life experiences. If a Painter gives a painting a name it forces the viewer to try to see those images,” said Simon Brignall.
“While looking at the pieces of art, viewers will notice the multi-coloured works will often change hue when seen at different distances and with various lighting, bringing a sense of mystery.”
The exhibition, which includes pieces for sale, will run from Tuesday, April 11th to Sunday, April 16th.
The Three Storeys gallery is open Tuesday to Friday 9am – 4pm, Saturday from 10am to 4pm, Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Private View Tuesday 11th April 6-8 pm.
