In a touching display of kindness, Forest Green Rovers manager Robbie Savage carried a young fan onto the pitch to celebrate the team’s 2-0 victory over Woking.
But it was caring Savage’s gesture that really captured hearts.
After the final whistle, Savage spotted fan Teddy in the crowd. The Rovers’ boss walked over, lifted the fan onto his chest, and carried him onto the pitch to join in the celebrations with the fans behind the goal.
Savage later posted on social media: “Teddy is at every game – home and away – this is what it’s all about.”
Savage has endeared himself to the fans and recently joined supporters on the terraces to revel in the post-match celebrations following a victory over Hartlepool last month.
