The Carlton Club in Stroud was proud to welcome one of snooker’s most charismatic and beloved figures, Jimmy White MBE, for a special meet-and-greet event organised by Iconic Entertainments.
Known to generations of fans as “The Whirlwind”, Jimmy White is regarded as one of the greatest and most entertaining players ever to grace the sport. A six-time World Championship finalist and winner of numerous ranking titles throughout a glittering career spanning more than four decades, Jimmy became a household name during snooker’s golden era of the 1980s and 1990s. Renowned for his attacking style, natural flair, and larger-than-life personality, he remains one of the sport’s most popular figures and continues to attract fans across the country.
The event welcomed more than 80 excited ticket holders, all eager to meet the snooker legend, take photographs, and receive signed autographs throughout the afternoon.
Guests were then treated to an entertaining and insightful talk from Jimmy, who shared stories and memories from his remarkable career, followed by a lively Q&A session with the audience.

To round off a fantastic day, Jimmy took to the pool table to play against 10 lucky competition winners, each enjoying their own game against the snooker icon.
A spokesperson for the club said: “To have Jimmy with us for the day was a delight. He was brilliant with ticket holders and had some great stories to tell. Thanks to Iconic Entertainments for bringing this brilliant event to us.”
