Festive fundraising fitness challenge at Archway School

Stroud-based charity Allsorts is challenging local fitness fanatics in their latest Christmas fundraiser.

Taking place on Saturday 10th December, 1pm – 4.30pm at Archway School, Stroud, the Allsorts Festive Fitness fundraiser will gather daring participants to test their stamina in this 3-hour back-to-back fitness challenge with a fun festive twist.

The action-packed fitness event will give individual participants a real sense of achievement by taking part in Christmas themed fitness classes whilst raising vital funds for Allsorts.

Gemma Wilks, Sports Co-Ordinator at Allsorts said ‘We’re really looking forward to this fun event. Our Festive Fundraisers will start by opening the doors to our COREvent calendar, followed by Christmas HITTs, Rocking AROUND the Christmas tree, The last snowman standing, and we will boogie it out in a dance class to finish. No session is longer than 45 minutes and there will be regular breaks in between. It will be a fun filled, action-packed Christmas to remember. Don’t forget to wear your Christmas outfits!’

Given that Gemma completed the Stroud Half Marathon in 1 hour and 26 minutes this year, coming second in the women’s race, you’ll be excellent hands on the day!

Allsorts offers a range of activities for young people with disabilities and additional needs to help keep members fit and healthy in a safe and supportive environment.

As fitness is such an important part of our activity calendar, we thought it only fitting to launch this fitness fundraising challenge to supporters. All funds raised will go towards this year’s Christmas Appeal focused around ‘Supporting a Support worker.

Allsorts support workers are an invaluable part of the Allsorts Team, without which we would be unable to provide the variety and number of activities, support groups and trips that we currently offer for children across Gloucestershire.

It costs £20 to sign up and we ask each participant to raise £100 for the charity. It would be wonderful if we could get 15 people taking part in the event and raise £1500 for the charity’.
