Stroud is due to host a first-ever adult-only cabaret show.
Hosted by Love Circus, this special Halloween-themed performance is exclusively for adults and features an array of local circus and burlesque performers, who will show-off their talents at Lansdown Hall on Monday, October 30th.
“Expect wondrous tricks and devilishly delicious treats,” says Kai Gwynn, producer and compere. “Our cast and crew are ready to delight, disturb, impress and entice our audience!”
Performer Siggy transforms the stage into a sweet factory and delves into the world of Halloween-treat product testing, using object manipulation and juggling.
“I love the story-telling aspect of circus,” says Siggy.
“I have a huge passion for circus training and that has kept me optimistic despite some hurdles.”
“I have built up a lot of strength and have had to adapt my training in recent years due to having Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. I want people to understand that disability is not a bad word.”
There will be mesmerising burlesque performances from Peaches Lamore and a sensual belly-dancing fire act from Sofia. Plus, multi-disciplinary circus performer Edwin will be taking centre-stage following on from his recent supporting role at Giffords Circus.
Pole dancing, knife-juggling and clever comic interludes will also feature in Love Circus Halloween Cabaret.
“After the success of our Valentines Cabaret earlier this year, we’ve added some more spice to the show,” says Rosie Clarke, co-producer.
“We’re also encouraging you to wear your finest Halloween fancy dress, with awards for the best-dressed.”
With a fully licenced bar and a menu inspired by Persephone’s retreat to the underworld, Love Circus Cabaret exudes a grown-up atmosphere. Pomegranate and black cocoa cake, cinder toffee apple, and activated charcoal focaccia are just some of the culinary delights on offer from local chef Sia Holmes.
Standard tickets cost £15 each. For a special treat, a limited amount of VIP tickets are available at £25, which include front-row seats, a complimentary seasonal cocktail, and a VIP snack box filled with sweet and savoury surprises.
