These are the first images of new Forest Green boss Steve Cotterill, who was officially unveiled by chairman Dale Vince to the media this afternoon.
Cotterill took training this morning, where he met the current backroom staff, including one-game caretaker manager and goalkeeper coach Dan Connor at Rovers’ Stanley Park training ground in Chippenham, this morning. His former assistant at Shrewsbury Town and former Bristol City striker Aaron Wilbraham is expected to join Cotterill at the New Lawn.
The 59-year-old becomes Forest Green’s sixth manager since June 2022, following Rob Edwards, Ian Burchnall, Duncan Ferguson, David Horseman and Troy Deeney.
He spent five years at hometown club Cheltenham Town, guiding them from the Southern League to the Football League for the first time in 1999.
Cotterill also won promotion with Notts County and led Bristol City to the League One and EFL Trophy double in 2015.
His other former clubs include Stoke, Burnley, Portsmouth and Nottingham Forest.
Photographer Matt Bigwood captured Cotterill’s first moments at their training ground.
