Stonehouse Town thumped local rivals Shortwood United 5-1 in the Gloucestershire derby at Meadowbank.

Matt Blythe’s side were still smarting from a 5-1 thrashing at the weekend to Clanfield 85, Matt Blythe’s side had no answer to a Stonehouse side who have now posted two five-goal hauls in an explosive start to their Hellenic League Division One West season.

Earlier, Shortwood took the lead through Max Harper-Emerson, but Chris Burns’ side turned the screw to lead 4-1 at the break.

A brace from Tim Williams and further strikes from Tom Palmer, Nick Humphreys and Rich Thwaite made it another bad day at the office for Shortwood.
