Dads prepare to take on the ultimate challenge this Saturday at Five Valleys shopping centre when they put their taste buds to the test.

In true Father’s Day style the centre team is encouraging youngsters to nominate their dad, carer or grandad to take on the challenge of eating the worlds fieriest chillis.

Five levels of taste bud torture will be presented to participating dads from 12 noon within the centres Courtyard area in order to battle it out for the Chilli Challenge trophy.

Centre Manager for Five Valleys, Jack Simpson, said: “We wanted to create some fun in the lead up to Father’s Day and what better challenge to set than a Chilli Challenge for our dads.”

There are some great prizes to be won including trophies for the winners.

Continuing the spicy theme there are plenty of hot lunch choices including piri piri chicken, spicy pad Thai and curried dahl all available from the centres great range of international, gourmet street food vendors found at the indoor market.

It’s also not too late to get those last minute gifts for dads in readiness of Sunday.

Sandersons Boutique department store have a range of gift ideas from designer fashion to luxury fragrance, accessories to more unique gift ideas such as Marshall speakers and a gin making kits.

Victoria R also stock a great range of mens natural skincare products and some of the centres national high street names stock a range of reasonably priced toiletry sets and other perfect gifts.

The centre will be open until 8:30pm this Friday, all day Saturday and from 11 until 3pm on Sunday as the centre extends their opening hours to seven days a week.

People wanting to register for the chilli challenge should make their way to the registration desk at the Courtyard by 12 noon on Saturday.
