Torrential rain is causing surface-water flooding in Nailsworth.

Pictures sent in by a Stroud Times’ reader shows flooding on the entrance towards Old Bristol Road.

“Road conditions are terrible,” said Stroud Times reader David Blake.

“Drivers need to be aware and surface-water flooding is also on the road near Ruskin Mill and just before the Horsley tip.”

The Met Office has warned residents, motorists and visitors to be alert to floods and gales as it issued a Yellow Warning for both wind and rain for New Year’s Day and January 2.
