The Flying Scotsman’s visit to Stroud today, Saturday, has been cancelled due to the ongoing effects of Storm Eunice.

The famous locomotive had been due to bring daytrippers through Stroud and was sure to draw an excited crowd of onlookers to the station.

But widespread disruption on the railways has seen the trip cancelled.

Tour operator The Railway Touring Company posted an update on its website at 8.30pm on Friday, saying: “Due to ongoing issues across the rail network, Network Rail have this evening advised of their decision to cancel this train.”

Network Rail’s website warns that Storm Eunice has caused “severe disruption” to the rail network across Britain.
