A maypole which is believed to date back to 1660, is proudly flying the flag for the people of Ukraine.

The Paganhill Maypole is now displaying the flag of war-torn Ukraine after it was donated to the Maypole Society by Dominique and Elizabeth Lee.

Haydn Sutton and Janine Bagouin from the Maypole Society were joined by Dominique and Terry Marshall during the raising ceremony.

Sue Sutton from the Maypole Society, said: “The Maypole Society is grateful to Dominique and his wife Elizabeth for suggesting the community of Paganhill shows support for the people of Ukraine who are suffering so much.”

The flag will stay in place until the Queen’s birthday on April 21st.
