Forest Green 2023/24 fixtures – Salford City first up before trip to Harrogate

Forest Green’s fixtures for the 2023/24 season have been revealed, with a home fixture against Salford City kicking off life back in League Two on Saturday, August 5.

The first game on the road for Duncan Ferguson’s side will be a visit to Harrogate Town on August 12, before they host Swindon Town in the first midweek fixture three days later.

There will be Hollywood visitors to Nailsworth on December 9 when newly promoted Wrexham face FGR for the first time since 2016-2017.

Rovers were promoted to League Two that season and will be back again for 23/24 following their 24th-placed finish and relegation from League One last term. The Gloucestershire side previously spent five season in the fourth tier before winning the title to reach their highest ever division. Their dream turned quickly to a slow nightmare as they amassed just 27 points, scoring just 31 goals in their 46 matches, before succumbing to relegation for the first time in the club’s history.

The festive period will be a busy one for every side, and FGR will host Gillingham on December 23rd, before travelling to Newport County on Boxing Day, followed by a short trip to Swindon three days later for a Friday evening kick off. They will be back at home to play AFC Wimbledon on New Year’s Day.

The final away fixture will be at Morecambe on April 20 2024 before the regular season ends at home to the other promoted side from the National League, Notts County.
