Forest Green digital executive Laurie Martin has joined Premier League Fulham.

Martin, a Forest Green fan, is set to take up a role as academy communications executive with the Cottagers.

A former Maidenhill student, Martin spent spent two years covering Rovers for Gloucestershire Live as part of his internship, before landing his dream job at his boyhood club.

After graduating from the University of Gloucestershire’s with a BA in Sports Journalism, Martin had a brief stint as a digital producer with PA before joining Forest Green in October 2022, replacing Conor Shaw, who left to join Premier League giants Manchester City.

On his Forest Green departure, Martin told Stroud Times: “I’ve loved my time working at Forest Green and I’m grateful to have worked alongside so many great people. I really hope the team can get the points needed to stay in the division this season – and I know everybody at FGR is working hard to make sure that’s the case.”
