Tamworth 1 Forest Green 1
Forest Green boss Steve Cotterill insisted his automatic-promotion chasing side did enough to come away with a win after they settled for a Boxing Day point at a fog-laden Tamworth.
Kyle McAllister’s sumptuous strike seven minutes before the break had earlier sent Rovers to the top of the as it stands table, but a last-gasp Dan Creaney goal denied the Nailsworth side three points.
A frustrated Cotterill told BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Billy Hunt: “The referee never gave us anything all game today, I thought he was very poor today.
“We never got anything, just disappointed with the end bit. The lads gave everything, I don’t have any problems with that. We have just had one moment right at the death there, we did enough for me, we did enough to come away with a good 1-0 win today.”

Earlier, Rovers faced a kit fiasco and were forced to don their training tops after the referee insisted their pink kit clashed with the red of Tamworth’s, Cotterill said: “It was 10 days ago when the sheet was sent into him about us wearing pink, he would have saw that and then all of a sudden before the game today, he doesn’t want us to wear our away kit because he thought it was a clash.
“So, as soon as that happened, I thought ‘oh dear, we are in danger today’, all of a sudden, we have had to mark up our training T-shirts with some numbers.
“He said that he ‘couldn’t differentiate between the pair of them’, I think you are in trouble if you can’t do that. We have to wear t-shirts, it was either that or we had to wear their shirts where they had a white change of kit. We have just got to make sure that we are better at that and everything is nailed down before we even turn up.”
