Forest Green could face Premier League Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round.
Rovers’ second round tie at Blackpool was postponed on Saturday, with the Nailsworth club under an FA investigation over the eligibility of a player used in round one as they beat Scarborough.
They could be booted out before the tie. No details on the player being investigated have been disclosed.
Third round ties will be played early in the new year, across the weekend of January 6-7.
