Forest Green’s reward for knocking Bristol City out of the Carabao Cup has seen them land a plum tie at Premier League newcomers Brentford.
Rob Edwards’ side will travel to The Brentford Community Stadium, week commencing August 23rd.
Brentford’s first-ever Premier League season will begin on Friday, August 13th, when The Bees welcome Arsenal in their first top-flight game since 1947.
Thomas Frank’s side ended their pre-season schedule with a win over Valencia on Saturday. The Bees fell behind but came back to win on the day their new stadium was officially opened. Former Forest Green defender Ethan Pinnock, who helped Rovers into the football league, headed in an equaliser before Frank Onyeka struck the winner.
