Forest Green goalkeeper Luke McGee makes Derby County switch

MOST READ

Forest Green goalkeeper Luke McGee has joined League One rivals Derby County on loan until the end of the season.

McGee, 27, has played 25 games this season but has dropped down the pecking order since the January transfer window arrival of Ross Doohan from Tranmere Rovers

McGee turned professional at Tottenham in July 2014 and worked with Brad Friedel, Michel Vorm and Hugo Lloris during his three years as the north London club’s third-choice goalkeeper.

In 2017, McGee joined Portsmouth on a three-year deal, but after 50 appearances in his first season at Fratton Park.

McGee will go down in Rovers’ history as the goalkeeper who played every league match in the 2021/22 season, recording 23 wins, 15 draws and 19 clean sheets.
