Forest Green Rovers have clinched the signing of Ben Stevenson from Colchester United.

The exciting midfielder becomes Rovers’ second signing of the day and joins after making 97 appearances for the Essex-based outfit across two spells – and pens a two-year-deal with the Club.

The 24-year-old started his career with Coventry City as an eight-year-old, going on to play on 48 occasions for the Sky Blues and winning the EFL Trophy, before joining Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Stevenson enjoyed loan spells with Colchester and Spanish side Jumilla while with Wolves, before heading to the JobServe Community Stadium permanently – becoming a mainstay in the side across three seasons in League Two.

Rich Hughes, Director of Football, told FGR Media: “Ben is an experienced player at this level and still has so much potential.

“We are delighted to be able to bring Ben to the Football Club. He’s a talented player and I’m sure the fans will enjoy his technical ability.”
