Former Bristol City winger Opi Edwards has completed a one-year deal at Forest Green and becomes new head coach Rob Edwards’ first signing.
Born in Ghana, the 21-year-old makes the move to Nailsworth after leaving Ashton Gate this summer – and started his career with the Bristol Inner City Academy before linking with up the Robins youth-squad in 2015.
Edwards made his debut in the FA Cup under Lee Johnson back in 2018 and appeared four times in the league during the previous campaign.
Spells on loan with Bath City, Solihull Moors and Torquay United followed throughout his City career, furthering his first-team football development.
Rich Hughes, Director of Football, told FGR Media: “Opi is a player who has real talent – and we’re delighted to get this deal over the line.
“We’ve got a squad full of young and exciting players – so we’re sure Opi will thrive in that environment.”
