The annual Minchinhampton Flower & Produce Show was once again a blooming success on Saturday, 6 September, attracting more than 300 exhibits.
The highlight of the day came with the arrival of former BBC newsreader Kate Silverton, who presented the trophies and awards to the winners.
Silverton praised the event’s atmosphere and community spirit, saying she was delighted to be involved: “It has been such a pleasure to see the wonderful displays and to meet so many people. Congratulations to everyone who took part in what is a truly special local tradition.”
The event, a much-loved fixture in the local calendar, brought the community together to showcase prize-winning flowers, fruit, vegetables, cakes, preserves, and photography.

Minchinhampton Gardening Club member John Goodwin enjoyed a standout day, taking home three cups, including the prestigious Show Gardener of the Year title for his home-grown organic fruit and vegetables.
In a gesture of support for the next generation of growers, Goodwin also presented a cheque for £150 on behalf of the Gardening Club to Nikki Wood of the School PTA and Head Teacher Nick Moss. The funds will go towards the new Minchinhampton School Garden Project, launched this year to inspire young gardeners.

Organisers hailed the show as another resounding success, with the wide variety of exhibits reflecting both the dedication of Minchinhampton’s gardeners and the strong sense of community the event fosters each year.
