Former Brimscombe boss Sam Prior has joined fellow Hellenic Premier Division outfit Slimbridge.

He joins the management team of Adam Coyle and Tom Deakin after nine years with the Lilywhites.

Prior, who saw his new side hold Steve Cotterill’s Forest Green to a 1-1 draw on Monday, told Slimbridge’s website: ” I’m delighted to be asked to come on board at a friendly club like Slimbridge. If I can help the two managers and take a little pressure off by doing the small jobs, hopefully it’ll help them and the players to do better in key areas.

“It’s been a good start to pre-season and the lads look raring to go, so it’s fingers crossed for another positive season.”

Swans’ joint manager Tom Deakin, added: “We’ve always talked about making this happen, but unfortunately it’s always been right place, wrong time.

“Now the opportunity has come about, after speaking to Adam, we both agreed it was a no-brainer.

“Now he’s here, we are ready to go. He has fitted in already, the lads have taken to him well. He’s a great person with great experience.”
