Former Forest Green caretaker boss Jimmy Ball joins Stevenage

Former Forest Green caretaker boss Jimmy Ball has been named first-team coach at Stevenage.

Ball, son of England World Cup winner Alan, left his role as Forest Green U18s coach at the start of the season after previously leading Rovers to the League Two play-off semi-finals after taking on the interim role following the sacking of Mark Cooper.

Ball will assist boss Paul Tisdale and the former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City coach’s first match in the dugout will be this Saturday for Stevenage’s home fixture against Walsall.
