Former Forest Green defender joins Coventry City

Former Forest Green defender Liam Kitching has joined Championship outfit Coventry City from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.

Harrogate-born Kitching, 23, who began his career at Leeds United, then moved to Barnsley from Forest Green in January 2021 after playing under former boss Mark Cooper.

He played an integral part throughout that campaign for Rovers, making 36 appearances in all competitions, as the Nailsworth side finished 10th, after their season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He has now signed a four-year contract with Mark Robins’ Sky Blues.
