Age is just a number for evergreen Stonehouse Town player-manager Chris Burns.
The 53-year-old former Portsmouth midfielder, who once rubbed playing shoulders with the likes of John Barnes, Ian Rush, Clarence Seedorf and Ryan Giggs, is now pulling the strings for the Hellenic Division One West Magpies.
Burns’ side thumped Moreton Rangers 6-1 in the Hellenic League Supplementary Cup with Nick Humphreys bagging a brace, captain Alex Kibble, Elliott King, Andy Maryon and Harry Burns on target.
Stonehouse will now host Tuffley Rovers behind closed doors in the quarter-finals of the Hellenic League Supplementary Cup at The Ben’s Takeaway Stadium on Saturday, 3pm.
